XVIII Polish Food Industry Tennis Championships - PROMAR OPEN 2023!

Unforgettable emotions, sports passion and spirit of competition filled the courts during the 18th Polish Food Industry Tennis Championships. This year's PROMAR OPEN Tennis Tournament took place on 17 and 18 June 2023 in picturesque Ostróda under the auspices of the company PROMAR.

Ostróda has a special meaning in the history of our tournament, because it was here that the first editions of the event took place. The past competition attracted many players who again competed for the trophy of the President of Indykpol. The tournament was played on carefully prepared courts of the Ostróda Sports and Recreation Centre.

This year's edition of PROMAR OPEN brought together three generations in one place. The event was opened by the President Andrzej Marchewka, together with his children and grandchildren. All the numerous guests were cordially and warmly welcomed by the Deputy Mayor of Ostróda - Mr Zenon Kastrau.

The championships were held in six categories, both for women and men, in singles and doubles. From the very beginning of the tournament, it was clear that the competition would be dynamic and emotions would run high.
The first day of the competition was marked by qualifiers, during which there were lots of friendly gestures and conversations. The time of waiting for the next duels passed in a nice atmosphere of a family picnic. The youngest - children and grandchildren of our tennis players and invited guests - rose to the occasion and took care of the joyful atmosphere on the courts, bravely cheering on the players during the Championships. It was the cheerful laughter and energetic cries of our little-big fans that gave wings to all players and created an extremely warm and family atmosphere of the event.

On Saturday evening, we also met at a ceremonial dinner in the banquet hall of the Willa Port Hotel in Ostróda, and on Sunday the semi-final and final of the tournament took place.
The Championship tournament was played under the watchful eye of professional judges - Ryszard Fleszar and Tomasz Warowny.

The winner of this year's competition was the company MIKSTER Sp. z o.o.,
winning for the second time the Challenge Cup for the best team. Congratulations!

Polish Food Industry Tennis Championships are already a tradition that attracts crowds of tennis enthusiasts from all over the country every year and integrates the food industry. This year's event gathered more than 90 competitors and fans. The presence of three generations at PROMAR OPEN also emphasizes the importance of physical activity for a healthy lifestyle at every stage of life. Moreover, it shows that the Championships are an excellent opportunity to build family ties and pass sports passion from generation to generation.
