Excellence in the meat industry: Summary of the 55th edition of the competition "Top quality products in the meat industry" during the Meat Industry Days.

On May 18, the 54th edition of the Meat Industry Day event took place, combined with the announcement of the results of the 55th edition of the prestigious "Top Quality Products in the Meat Industry" competition, organized by the Department of Meat and Fat Technology of the Prof. Wacław Dąbrowski Institute of Agricultural and Food Biotechnology of the National Research Institute. The ceremony, held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development at the Dom Technika NOT in Warsaw, brought together a large group of experts and representatives of the meat industry.

During the meeting, participants had the opportunity to listen to presentations on the latest work of the European Commission in the field of food labeling and changes in the regulations on the use of nitrites and nitrates in meat products. In addition, changes in the SEUROP classification of pork carcasses were also discussed, and technical and technological innovations were presented.

Our speakers Monika Locińska and Dominika Gawłowicz-Cebula presented PROMAR and the sterilization of dried onions and garlic implemented by us.

After the substantive part of the meeting, the award ceremony for the winners of the "Top Quality Products in the Meat Industry" competition took place. The awardees had the opportunity to present their products during a tasting, which was the highlight of the event.

The competition is highly regarded in the industry and provides an excellent opportunity for meat producers to showcase their top-quality products. This year's edition attracted 142 samples from 41 meat and poultry plants, indicating the growing interest in the competition in the industry.
